Here Comes the Sun

Lots of dogs enjoying the sunshine over here this week. Our boy Mister is back. He quickly found a perch so he can watch over the flamingos. It was great having him visit us again.

Our Pet Haven foster dog Spike is loving life. He has a home visit on Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed this is a forever home for him.. He like all the homeless dogs deserves the best.

Our new Pet Haven foster dog, Walker, joined us on Sunday. Karen from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue named him Walker in hopes he would walk normally someday. He would only scoot on his back because he was so terrified from being horribly abused by humans and other dogs. Guess it worked because he is not only walking.........

....but running and playing. Here is he is playing with Phoenix who came for daycare today. It still amazes me how dogs who are horribly abused can bounce back so quickly with food, water, love, and a little patience. They teach me lessons everyday. I love my "job".

Spike and Phoenix

Well look who came out to play today with our current Pet Haven foster Spike. Phoenix was here for the day and it was heartwarming to see these two having so much fun with each other. For those of you who do not know these two, click on their names to read some former posts. Both had rough lives not that long ago. Just goes to show how living in the moment can heal the body and the soul. Who knows maybe they will be seeing even more of each other. Shhh secret plans. more later.

2011 in Review

Looking back on 2011.....
We fostered three dogs for Pet Haven. Tug took 9 months to find his forever home but he finally did!!
Angelica came to us from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue. She was adopted in about two weeks.
Ash was also a RLRR dog. He was so energetic-the opposite of Angelica. He was adopted a couple of weeks ago Happy new lives to all. Looking forward to getting a new foster dog soon.
In June we had a family reunion to celebrate Walker's graduation. It was fabulous to have everyone together.
Walker graduated with honors and went on to study at the U of M. He has finished his first semester and is interested in continuing his studies in anthropology. He has a band and is writing lots of music.

Rescue Buddy Boarding & Beyond had many guests through the year. We had 'old timers' like Toby and
 Mister visit often.
And some new tails too like Edna and Captain.

                                                                            .
We are saddened by the passing of one of our guests, Jack, who crossed the rainbow bridge this past year. Jack, you were loved and are still missed every day.

As we reflect  on 2011 we are grateful for our family, friends and for all the furry kids that come to visit. Here's to some big changes in 2012! Stay tuned. Happy Peaceful New Year to all!
