Heading Back To Red Lake Rosie's

Red Lake Rosie's shelter by mchanrasmi.
Along with three other women that I have yet to meet, this Friday I will be heading back to Red Lake Rosie's Rescue for a weekend of fun and hard work. We will be preparing the kennels for the brutal winter that has yet to show up-thank goodness, feeding and walking dogs, and changing litter boxes.

I am excited to catch up with Karen and to meet all the new dogs that have arrived at the shelter. On my last trip I ended up falling in love with an Aussie mix, Dusty, that I soon fostered and rehomed.

If anyone has supplies that need to be returned/delivered to Red Lake please let me know. They can be dropped off by my garage anytime before 9am on Friday. I live in Ne Minneapolis. Email for address. Karen has an overabundance of linens so if you have any of these items please find someone else that can use them.

Karen has had more animals surrendered to the shelter than ever before. If you know anyone who would like to become a foster and save a life please let me know. On Sunday we will be bringing many of these dogs and cats to the cities to start their new lives. Here is a photo of one of the pups that needs help. Can you provide a home for Carley?

Dusty and Maebelle: update

Dusty , our first foster dog from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue and his Aussie sister Maebelle are enjoying a bed built for two. What a life of luxury. Dusty has come a long way from being a cast-off up on the reservation. It is not all a life of relaxing however. Maebelle does therapy work in the schools teaching kids with learning problems to read. And soon Dusty will be taking over so Maebelle can retire. Dusty loves kids and he is a quick learner. And the kids will love him too. His nickname is "Mr Wiggle Butt" because his whole body wiggles when he wags his tail. These success stories are why we continue to take in foster dogs. Look for stories on our new foster Jake  from Pet Haven coming next week.

Dusty our first foster

Just got an updated photo of Dusty our first foster dog. He is such a happy boy. Dusty came from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue up on the Red Lake reservation. I was volunteering up there the day after Dusty came in. I fell for the boy right away and told Karen Rescue Buddy would foster him after he was neutered. We were able to enjoy this handsome guy for about three weeks. He is now living with a work at home mom and dad, an 8 year old boy, and a canine sister. http://redlakerosie.blogspot.com/search?q=dusty We are looking forward to our next foster dog in the coming weeks.
